The saying “Careful what you wish/pray for!” hit me differently this morning….
I have been guilty of this too so don’t think I am not talking to myself here.
A lot of times I’ve used this saying both for myself and for others it’s because when you get what you prayed for you get the challenges that come with it that you didn’t know about or were prepared for.
The growth you prayed for comes with challenges.
The spouse you prayed for comes with challenges.
The kids you prayed for come with challenges.
The money you prayed for comes with challenges.
Then we tend to complain or beat ourselves up or start to get negative about the challenge of it all….
For the first time maybe ever this morning it hit me….
Be careful what you complain about. Because if the challenge is removed it could mean the thing you prayed for is removed along with it…. It could show the universe you are not appreciative of the gift it provided and it will take it away.
I don’t know why this hit me differently this morning but it landed like a nuclear bomb on my heart.
Careful what you complain about seems 10x more powerful of an exercise than careful what you pray for…
Don’t be careful with prayer.
Dream, wish, and pray BIGGER!
Then be careful about what you complain about when it shows up!
Winning isn’t supposed to be easy….
But so many of us including me get surprised when hard shows up!
